Sewing, Quilting & Alterations
Our variety of sewing-based classes help women learn professional-level skills for use in the workplace. Below, each of our classes have been described. Some require prior knowledge of sewing or quilting in order to apply. In these classes, students will learn how to:
- Use a sewing machine
- Sew in a straight line
- Read and create patterns
- Alter clothing
- Appreciate and master the art of quilting
Sewing Classes:
* NEW * Beginning Sewing
Our beginner sewing class is perfect for those who have never used a sewing machine, or are familiar with sewing but want to practice what they already knew & develop those skills more. We are currently taking applications for Beginning Sewing- Fall.
Beginning Sewing will be taught from September 15th, 2026 until May, 2027. It is on Wednesdays from 1:30 pm-3:30 pm. Orientation Day will be on September 15th, 2026 until May, 2027.
Alterations (Sewing)
Our alterations class is for those who have experience with sewing, and want to take the next step to modify the clothes they currently own; for resizing, aesthetics, and more. It is highly recommended to have the experience of our Beginning Sewing class before applying to this one. We are currently taking applications for Alterations- Fall.
Alterations will be taught from September 16th, 2026 until May, 2027. It is on Wednesdays, from 10:00 am-1:00 pm.
Quilting Classes:
Beginning Quilting
Our beginning quilting class is for those who wish to learn how to make quilts. It is in-depth, and we highly recommend that students have sewing experience before applying. We are currently taking applications for Beginning Quilting- Fall.
Beginning Quilting will be taught from September 15th, 2026 until May, 2027. It is on Tuesdays from 10:00 am-2:00 pm.
Advanced Quilting
Our advanced quilting class is for those who wish to learn how to make quilts. It is very in-depth, and we highly recommend that students have sewing and quilting experience before applying. We are currently taking applications for Advanced Quilting- Fall.
Advanced Quilting is ongoing, taught on Tuesdays from 10:00 am-2:00 pm.
