Letter From the New Executive Director

As featured in our Fall 2025 newsletter, Executive Director Sister Frances Vista wrote a letter addressing the community. This is that letter.

Dear Friends,

Here is a quote to remember from St. Vincent de Paul, one of our founders, “It is not enough to do good. It must be done well.” (Conference November 25, 1657, to the Daughters of Charity). Interestingly enough, my mother must have learned this quote also because I grew up with this teaching from her. All those working at Give Me A Chance are trying to put this quote into action.

In addition to beginning sewing (now two classes) and quilting, we now offer an alteration class taught by Maricela Romero. The music program now includes piano lessons taught by Trina Mueller. ESL (English as a Second Language) is now offered two times a week by Flor Morales and Carol Yarosik. Computer classes have become popular, and they are being taught by Verona Gilliland.

If you have not had a chance to visit us here at Give Me A Chance or at the DeMarillac Formal Attire store, I would like to encourage you to come and see us. We have completed some preventive repairs and maintenance and are in the process of making renovations to meet the changing needs of both the center and the store.

Last but not least, if you are being called to be a volunteer for any of our programs, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will certainly accommodate your gifts of time, talent, and treasure. Come and be a part of the growing Give Me A Chance community. None of these free services to the community would be possible without your continued support.

From our Community to Yours, God’s Blessings,

Sister Frances, D.C.
Executive Director, Give Me A Chance, Inc.
